CAT 2009 - Salient Features

Eligibility
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
45% in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Differently Abled Categories.

Management Programmes through the CAT for the various IIMs
Separate advertisements will appear for each institute.
Each IIM follows its own independent admission process
Before appearing for the CAT it is advisable to visit each IIM website before deciding which programme one wishes to apply for

A. Post Graduate Programmes in Management (PGM)
IIM Ahmedabad PGP, PGP-ABM and PGP-PMP
IIM Bangalore PGP, PGSEM, and PGPPM
IIM Calcutta PGP-PGDM and PGP-PGDCM
IIM Indore PGP and EPGP
IIM Kozhikode PGP
IIM Lucknow PGP and PGP-ABM
RGIIM Shillong PGP

B. Fellow Programmes in Management (FPM)
(equivalent to Ph.D) of IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode and IIM Lucknow.

Sale of CAT 2009 Vouchers
Will commence on Sep 9, 2009 till Oct 1, 2009 at Axis Bank branches across the country. Registration fee is Rs 1400 (Rs 700 for SC/ST candidates).
Voucher should be bought in the name of the candidate as it appears in the school leaving certificate.

In case of name change relevant documents such as marriage certificate and show a photocopy at the time of test.

In case of SC/ST candidates must show a valid certificate at the time of purchase of Voucher.

Voucher once sold will not be refunded under any circumstances except in the below mentioned circumstances

Loss of voucher
Unable to read voucher number due to mishandling
Candidate not being eligible for taking CAT (CAT not being a pre-requisite for the programme offered)
Rejection of CAT candidate due to incomplete information.
Mistake in filing out online registration form

The candidate can then purchase a new voucher and register online.

Important Dates
Sale of CAT Vouchers at Axis Bank branches: Wednesday, 9 September 2009 – Thursday, 1 October 2009
Registration for CAT 2009: Wednesday, 9 September 2009 – Thursday, 1 October 2009.
You will also be able to reschedule date, time and location of your test during this period at no extra cost.
CAT Test Dates : Saturday, 28 November 2009 – Monday, 7 December 2009
CAT Result: Friday, 22 January 2010 onwards. Candidates must retain a print-out of their score card.
Date for rectifying data related to CAT REGISTRATION: Friday, 18 September 2009
